Sundays are my day to get prepped for the week ahead. I mean everyone loves a good Netflix and chill, but that doesn’t mean you cant do both 🙂
By taking a bit of time out of my Sundays, it helps me to be less busy the rest of the week. We all have enough going on during the week as is, and you know I’m all about cutting out the unnecessary bullshit 🙂
These are the things I do on Sundays to make sure I smash the rest of the week!
1. MAKE A PLAN FOR THE WEEK
I sit down and write the meals that I am going to prep, the groceries I need, the workouts I am going to do and the small daily habits I hope to instill. ex,. meditate, stretch and read every-night.
Jim Rohn says: “If you don’t plan your own life, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”
By writing down what you want, and actively focusing on your goals you are not just leaving your life up to chance. Failing to plan, is planning to fail ladies!
2. BUY GROCERIES (EVEN BETTER PREP YOUR LUNCHES)
Nothing is worse than getting off a hectic day of work on Monday and remembering you have to go to the grocery store. #firstworldproblems
But seriously, its a pain in the ass. By following step 1, and having a list of what you’re planning to make you can save yourself tons of time during the weekdays. I do a haul and get some basic breakfast staples as well.
I am not much of a morning eater so Ill usually hard boil some eggs and eat a couple of those each morning.
Then I will prep 8 meals for Monday- Thursday for me and the hubs.
Usually a stir fry, or chicken salad. We have saved so much $$ and time doing this. I think i’ll do a whole other blog post on healthy meal prep ideas.
We usually allow ourselves to eat out on Fridays for lunch. Then we look forward to it more too! Win-win.
3. GET IN A GOOD WORKOUT / SAUNA
For some reason I HATE working out on Mondays. It is usually always my rest day, unless by the grace of God I make it to the gym.
So I like to use Sundays to really take my time in the gym and get a solid workout in. I always follow it with a good sweat in the sauna after. I will usually do a small meditation, or watch an inspirational video on YouTube while in the sauna as well.
Giving yourself and your body some lovin’ and self care is the only way you be your best self.
Release those endorphins!
4. CLEAN THE HOUSE / LIVING AREA
Nothing beats having a clean organized space. There is something about having a lot of clutter around, that makes my brain go crazy.
I used to live in a #warzone when I was a teenager and could never find anything on my floor. Now I cant stand not knowing where everything is and I like having everything nice and sparkly to start the week.
I will usually do all the laundry, the dishes, clean the bathroom and put away odds and ends.
Having a chaotic living space reflects a chaotic mental space. Clean up your area and watch your life change!
5. SELF CARE / SPA DAY
Too many people think its selfish to spend time on yourself. Especially if you have kids, obligations and other things you think you should be spending time on first.
But ladies (or gentleman), you cant pour from an empty cup. You have to spend time on self care to be able to be your best self for your family, your job and your friends.
We should be feeling good about ourselves! We are magnificent creatures with so much potential. We aren’t here to make sure everyone else’s needs are met before our own.
By giving my body the extra attention it needs, I always feel good going into the week.
I will usually do a face mask, a hair mask, have a bath and do some light stretching or yoga.
I try to mediate everyday but I think its especially important on Sundays. Its a way to re center yourself, get clear on what you want and relax your mind.
When I am deep in meditation I have some of my deepest insights and creative thoughts. If it weren’t for meditation I probably wouldn’t have started this blog.
It allows you see things in a different way and really lets you tap into the subconscious desires. What your heart and soul really want.
Go there, its where you find the courage to pursue your dreams 🙂
7. GO TO BED EARLY
I usually go to bed before 9:00 pm every night. I know #grandma. I’m a big believer in early bird gets the worm, so I’m always up early too.
I have a morning routine I follow so that I get most of the things that I need completed, done and out of the way. That way after work, I don’t have a list of things to do, and little to no willpower left to want to do it.
Having a nighttime routine is equally important. Try not to be on your phone or watching TV an hour before bed. Do some reading instead.
And always make sure to wash and moisturize your face ladies!
By ensuring your getting enough quality sleep you are definitely setting yourself up for a week of success!
Let me know some of your ideas for a Sunday well spent! I love getting inspiration from others to add to my own routine.
